5 things that frustrate job-seeking teachers (and what you can do about them)
5 things that frustrate job-seeking teachers (and what you can do about them) In many industries, employers can get away with an uninspired recruitment process. But with skyrocketing demand for international educators, international schools have little room for error. If your recruitment process isnât up to par, you run the risk of losing out on top talent. To help you avoid the most common complaints, we asked our extensive network of educators to tell us what frustrates them the most about the job search process. Here are five recommendations based on their feedback: 1. Donât leave your recruitment tillthe last minute. Todayâs candidates areserious about their careers and aretaking their time to find the right opportunity. According to our recent survey of over16,000 international teaching candidates, 71% told us that theyâre beginning their job search anywhere from three to over nine months in advance of their desired start date. This means it's essential to take a more proactive approach to your recruitment. Teachers shouldn't be a last-minute hire. More and more, recruitment is becoming a year-round process. Candidates are beginning their search earlier and earlier, and you should be too. 2. Be clear about responsibilities and qualifications. Few things frustrate candidates more than finding out they arenât qualified for a job they spent hours applying for. When drafting your job postings, clearly outline the responsibilities and qualifications youâre seeking without leaving room for interpretation. This way, youâll attract more qualified candidates and save yourself time screening out unqualified applicants. 3. Include salary and benefits information in your job description. Salary and benefits are key pieces of information for prospective teachers. Omitting compensation details is a huge red flag for candidates, who willlikely assume your package isnât competitive and move on to other opportunities. A comparatively lower salary can be overcome for the right situation, but candidates wonât waste their time applying to postings that donât provide the information they need to make an informed decision. 4. Keep candidates up to date on their application status. A positive first impression starts with communication. At a minimum, candidates want to be kept up to date on the status of their application and be aware of the next steps in the process. Using an applicant tracking system, will enable you to automatically acknowledge receipt of an application, notify candidates of a change in their status and let them know to pursue other opportunities if theyâve been screened out. 5. Speed up recruitment time for a better candidate experience. To maintain your candidateâs interest, you need to move quickly. An inefficient, slow-moving hiring process will result in a disengaged candidate pool and promising applicants moving on to other opportunities. Again, using an applicant tracking system with built-in tools to sort, filter and screen out candidates that donât meet your requirements is an easy way to speed up your recruitment process. The bottom line? Making minor tweaks to your hiring process to prevent these common frustrations can go a long way towards improving the quality of your candidates, saving youtime and providing candidates with a positive experience. It could also make thedifference betweensecuring andmissing out on your schoolâs next great teacher. So, there's no time like the present to make sure your recruitment process is satisfying candidates. College Students Are Unsatisfied With the Presidential Candidates
College Students Are Unsatisfied With the Presidential Candidates https://pixabay.com COLLEGE PARK, Md.â" University of Maryland students gathered to watch the third and final presidential debate late Wednesday, although some students do not prefer either candidate. Approximately 200 students filled the Hoff Theater in Adele H. Stamp Student Union to educate themselves about Republican, Donald Trump Sr. and Democrat, Hillary Clinton before casting their vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Some students have chosen the candidate they plan on voting for, but did not seem necessarily satisfied with that particular candidate. Sarah J., a sophomore, who plans to vote for Clinton, said she fears of Trump running the country. âI very strongly identify with her [Clintonâs] democratic ideals and Iâm very afraid of [Donald Trump becoming president]; I think heâs a really scary feature for America,â Sarah said. Another Clinton supporter, Talia Hoch, a junior, said she was not content with Clinton as the democratic candidate, but she is better than the opposing side. âI would have rather had a different democratic candidate, being honest, but the fact that A, she is a woman, is amazing, but B, I agree with her ideals compared to Trump,â Hoch said. âHe [Trump] called people that want to cross the boarder âbad hombres; he is bringing back such horrible ideals,â Hoch said. Hoch was referring to part of the debate when Trump explained his stance on immigration. Well get them out, secure the border and once the border is secured at a later date well make a determination as to the rest. But we have some bad hombres here and were going to get them out, Trump said, according to CNN. This statement received mixed reactions from the different supporters in the crowd, including laughing and gasping. Several of Trumpâs statements received this type of reaction in the theater, as well as cheering from supporters when one candidate took a stab at the other throughout the debate. Ryan Lessel, a freshman, says he dislikes both the candidates, but he is planning to vote for Trump. âHonestly, I hate both him [Trump] and Hillary, and no independent candidate has any chance of winning, so there is no point in voting for them,â Lessel said. Lessel also commented on the support of the candidates around campus. âI donât see much campaigning for either candidate on campus,â Lessel said. He said he thinks the lack of support is because âneither of the candidates are very goodâ for this presidential election.
10 Ways to Deal With a Difficult Boss
10 Ways to Deal With a Difficult Boss pexels.com 1. Observe your boss The Muse suggests that the first step you take should be to observe your boss. Try to figure out if there is a reason behind his/her behavior or if he/she is behaving irrationally. Attempt to conclude if his/her bad actions are his/her doing or merely out of his/her control. Looking at the situation as a whole is important in helping you understand your boss more. Examine if your boss treats everyone at work negatively or if you feel you are being isolated. If you know you have done something to damage that relationship, be sure to take steps to repair it soon rather than avoiding it. 2. Try to understand where your boss is coming from It is fairly easy to blame your boss for all the stress and pressure you may be experiencing, but try to understand where they are coming from. They themselves may be facing the same kind of pressure you are. They also may have to deal with a tough boss as well. As hard as it is, Forbes recommends that you try to be more empathetic and sympathetic to your boss. 3. Dont slack off The Muse concludes that you shouldnt let your bossâs bad behavior deter you from doing the best you can at your job. Keep working hard and doing all you can to succeed. Although you may feel discouraged at times, do not give your boss a reason to build a case against you. 4. Think through each interaction When you do not care for an individual it is easy for emotions to flare up and cause you to say something you shouldnât. Since this individual is one who has power over you, it is important to keep those emotions and thoughts in check to prevent anything you may regret. Forbes concludes that you want to be honest with your boss, but also need to be sure you are careful about what you say and do. Simply be aware of yourself and the way you interact with your boss because that can easily escalate the current situation. 5. Write everything down When dealing with a tough boss, the Muse suggests you document each interaction to prevent problems in the future. Writing down his/her requests will prevent later confusion or any contradictions. This can be a great way to keep track of what is being asked of you and to ensure you are always prepared. 6. Approach the situation positively Donât let your bossâs attitude rub off on you. Psychology Today advises you to handle each situation positively and with confidence. This is a great way to show your boss that his/her negative demeanor does not affect you. 7. Figure out your bosss triggers The Muse suggests identifying what makes your boss angry and avoid doing that. If he/she hates tardiness, be sure to always arrive to work early. This will eliminate any unwanted tensions between you and your boss and deter problems from arising. 8. Do not be afraid to speak up As a subordinate you have to be respectful to your boss, but also make sure you are not being taken advantage of. There are drawbacks to being too timid as well. If the situation is so bad you are considering leaving, Forbes advises you talk to your boss about how you are feeling. If you approach the situation with respect and the right level of honesty there is a chance for change. It is also possible that the boss is oblivious of his/her actions, and in that case, you talking to him/her makes them more aware. 9. Try to maintain the relationship Even though you may not get along with your boss, you never know if he/she will be needed as a reference down the road. Forbes suggests you avoid destroying connections completely because often jobs will ask about your previous employments and ask to speak with your manager or boss. Above all try to keep the relationship as civil as you can. 10. Follow the correct procedures If you feel the need to take more serious action, do so the correct way. Avoid anything that can get you into trouble, such as name-calling or spreading rumors. Psychology Today advises that you take your complaints to Human Resources or another superior if you feel the need.

Algebra Answers
Algebra Answers Algebra answers are quite useful tool to evaluate the answers of the algebraic problems. This tool is so useful that it can calculate and solve the problems in no time. It uses general rules and formulas for finding or the interpretation of results. One need to understand the basics of algebra and also one should have command over algebra formulas and rules, and then only results can be calculated in an effective and in less time taking way. This can be more clarified by taking suitable relevant problems and solutions. Example 1:-Simplify -9 Solution:- We can use the rule for simplifying the square root for rewrite imaginary numbers. For solving the problem, we should know the concept of imaginary number i and we should also be aware about its values. We know that, square root of -9 = 3.3 which is approximately equal 3 (by neglecting negative sign) = square root of 9 times square root of -1 = 3 times square root of -1, Here -1= i, which is Imaginary number) =3 i So 3i is the most simplified form of -9. Example 2:- Simplify (i + 2i) (i) Solution:- In this case first we need to solve parenthesis and then we need to multiply that Therefore, (i + 2i) (i) =(3i) (i) (by combining like terms) = 3i2 We know that the imaginary number, The value of i2 = -1 Therefore from above, (i + 2i) (i) = 3i2 = 3 (-1) = -3 Therefore -3 is the simplified form of (i + 2i) (i).
Valence Electrons
Valence Electrons Valence Electrons Chemistry is a study of different atoms, an atom is the smallest particle in matter. An atom consists of three major subatomic particles, which are electrons, neutrons and protons. The protons are the positively charged particles. The neutrons are the neutral particles. The electrons are the negatively charged particles. The neutrons and protons are located inside the nucleus of the atom. An atom has nucleus in the center, around the nucleus are electrons arranged in various orbits depending on the atomic number. Valence electrons definition: Every atom has a unique atomic number. The number of electrons an atom has is equal to the atomic number of the atom. Initially the atom fills electrons in the inner most orbit and then the outer orbits. Theses electrons are arranged in orbits around the nucleus. The electrons that are present in the outermost shell of the atom are called as the valence electrons. Identifying the number of valence electrons for each atom is a very useful concept which can be applied in chemical bonding and many other chemistry topics. The following is a table to understand the number of valence electrons the atoms in the periodic table have: Periodic Table Group Number of valence electrons The Alkali metals (Group I) 1 The Alkaline earth metals (Group II) 2 The transition metals (Group 3 to 12) 3-12 Group III 3 Group IV 4 Group V 5 Group VI 6 The Halogens 7 Noble Gases Group (VIII) 8 Writing Electronic Configuration for finding the valence electrons: The electronic configuration of an atom can be written according its atomic number. The number of electrons of an atom are arranged in sub energy levels at the ground state of the atoms. The electronic configuration of an atom starts by filling the lower sub energy levels. Given below is the chart that helps to identify how the electrons are filled and the order in which the electronic configuration is written: So the order in which the electrons are filling is 1s, 2s, 2p, 3s, 3p, 4s, 3d, 4p, 5s, 4d, 5p, 6s, 4f, 5d, 6p, 7s and so on.
